Liberty is not collective, it is personal. All liberty is individual liberty. – Calvin Coolidge 30th US President Source: Speech 1924
A lot of people go about praising Marshal McLuhan. The fatuous over praised Canadian, who blurted out “Medium is the Message.” This is collectivist stupidity is oddly a proud moment to the Canadian Propaganda (Heritage) Moments they use to spoon fed out of context bullshit at times.
Jingoism manufacturing aside, the effect this mentality on silicon valley is the shame. Much of silicon valley are into group think now, and somehow view their medium as the message. So at points you see Vox and Carl Maza getting through to them on these points.
They believe “your them medium, your at fault for all the voices,” total ignoring the individual and the individual who actually does send out their message. It isn’t Youtube or Social Media models (Medium).
Youtube, Twitter, Gab, Minds, Bitchute, Facebook are responsible for nothing said, just administration quality, code quality, functionality. At least only two of those feel that way, and the rest put every cross burning, insult and conversation their shoulders. It’s all the collective talk of the network. It’s all 1 confusing voice.
I always found it funny, even with editorial rooms, when they would a disclaimer “….views are not necessarily that of….” disclaiming. Of course it isn’t, of course an individual’s view is an individual’s view, and it takes more than one voice, one comedic act, one opinion and so on to make up the human situation.
They have to admit Marshal was an idiot if they ever plan on being in the honest information sharing business. Give up collectivism, give up the ego that they created a powerful medium like it itself is the message. Check “The Corporation,” they are not a person, they are not individuals.
